What It Is

The more common name for the weight loss pill Duromine is Phentermine. There is a close relationship between these two and they are often interchangeable.

Phentermine is a fast-acting drug found in Adipex, but in Duromine, it acts as a slow, time-released drug.

The Evidence

You shouldn't take this drug lightly since there are some serious side effects involved. If you are going to take Duromine, you should only take it for several obesity cases. Duromine is so risky that it is actually listed as a Schedule IV controlled substance. This means that you can only get it through a prescription and under the care of a doctor so you can be closely monitored while taking it.

As with other prescription drugs, there are side effects associated with Duromine use. The difference is that side effects, which are normally non-severe and common with other weight loss pills, are felt to an intense degree in those who take Duromine. Some of the side effects to be aware of include the following:

• Change in libido
• Clumsiness or dizziness
• Dry mouth possibly with a bad taste
• Extreme fatigue
• Feelings of confusion
• General feelings of happiness
• Headaches
• Heartburn or acid reflux
• Irregular heartbeat

• Inability to sleep
• Increased blood pressure
• Nausea possibly with vomiting
• Nervousness
• Psychosis
• Painful stomach
• Skin sensitivities including itchiness or rash

Perhaps the even scarier fact is that Duromine has even more side effects than those listed above. While these side effects are more severe, they are listed as less common. Yet they have still been experienced by those who take the drug. If you feel any of the following side effects, you should immediately stop taking the pill and contact your doctor.

• A period of excitement followed by a period of depression
• Convulsion or seizures
• Extreme diarrhea
• Feeling lightheaded
• Feeling fatigued or weak
• Fever
• Hallucinations
• Inconsistent blood pressure
• Panic attacks
• Physical overreactions
• Sudden hostility
• Restlessness
• Tremors
• Vomiting

The Verdict

While Duromine is likely to help you lose weight, the number of severe side effects means it isn't worth it. The fact that it is considered a controlled drug should indicate how serious the results of taking this drug can be.

There are other supplements on the market that are a lot better with less severe side effects, so it is better to look into other weight loss pills before you take Duromine. With so many side effects, there are certainly better options on the market than Duromine.
