Adipex Review
What It Is
As a weight loss supplement, Adipex should only be taken under
the supervision of a doctor. There are several things you should consider before taking Adipex, including the
dosage and side effects.
Adipex helps to suppress appetite by affecting the central nervous system to fool the body into
thinking it's not hungry. The only way for Adipex to be effective is to take it along with a healthy diet and
routine exercise.
Even if you have certain risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol you can still
take Adipex. Adipex has to be taken completely since crushing, chewing, breaking or opening the
tablet affects the time-release aspect of the pill and this could lead to dangerous results.
Always be aware of how many pills are in your prescription bottle and beware of others in the household since
Adipex is an addictive drug. Since it is addictive, it should only be
taken for a period of 12 weeks and then start being weaned off Adipex.
The risk of pulmonary disorder is the most dangerous side effect of the drug. This can be a
fatal disorder of the lungs. However, this risk only increases when Adipex is combined with other medications like
Phen-Fen or Redux so you shouldn't take other supplements while on Adipex. Other side effects to be aware of
include the following:
- Anxiousness
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Dizziness
- Headaches
- Insomnia
- Itchiness
- Nervousness
- Skin sensitivity
- Sleep disorders
- Tremors
Adipex also has other side effects that can be serious and sometimes
life threatening.
If you experience an allergic reaction to Adipex, you should call for emergency help right
away. The signs of an allergic reaction include face, lips, tongue or throat. Other serious side effects can occur
with Adipex and while they don't require emergency treatment, you should also stop taking the drug and call your
doctor if you experience any of the following:
- Chest pain
- Faintness or light-headedness
- Shortness of breath, even after mild activity
- Swelling in the feet or ankles
You should also talk to your doctor and discontinue use if you experience a fast or irregular
heartbeat, have strange thoughts or behaviors, feel restless or confused, have an increase in blood pressure,
blurred vision, extreme headaches, unable to focus or seizures. Drinking
alcohol while on Adipex can increase your risk of negative side effects. Since
Adipex can make you very tired, you shouldn't operate heavy machinery while on the drug and avoid driving.
The Verdict
It is clear that Adipex comes with many side effects, some that can be fatal. Therefore, it is
not recommended that you take Adipex unless recommended and under the
supervision of your doctor.
